Ms. Kayumba Chiwele, MSc, PhD (Cand.)
Kayumba is a Clinical Neuropsychologist, Psychotherapist, Cognitive Behavioural Therapist and Lecturer of Psychology. She holds a Master of Science (MSc) in Clinical Neuropsychology from the University of Zambia’s School of Medicine, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the same university. She is currently pursuing her PhD in Psychology with Manchester Metropolitan University in the United Kingdom as a Commonwealth Scholar. She has over 8 years of experience in mental health, both as a practicing psychologist and lecturer. She is a fully qualified mental health practitioner working closely with the Ministry of Health, and has recently completed serving her term as Treasurer in the Executive Committee of the Psychology Association of Zambia. Kayumba is a recipient of numerous accolades and awards owing to her community outreach work. These include a 2020 World Bank SDGs and Her Award; the 113th Commonwealth Points of Light Award; an Australia Award for Mental Health Care in a Public Context; and a 2019 Africa 35.35 Award, all in recognition of her exceptional contribution to the mental health sector in Zambia.
